What is your average class size?
At every stage in their education, your child will learn in small class sizes that give them an exceptional personalized learning experience.

Our early years children (ages 2-5) learn in a maximum class size of 20. They’re supported by their class teacher and two assistants.

At primary level (ages 5-12), our students study in an average class of 24. They’re supported by their class teacher and specalized subject teacher.
What curriculum do you use?
At Childhood Joy Academy we are under the guidance of the Examinations Council of Zambia.
The academic year commences in January and ends in December.
Does CJA offer a meal programme?
We have partnered with one of your parents who provides breakfast and lunch services. The meals are priced at K45. Parents wishing to register their children can pay at the school reception or use mobile money.
Does CJA offer a bus service?
CJA does not offer a bus service for pick-up or drop-off.
What are the school hours?
Pre-Primary school starts at 7:30 am and finishes at 13:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
Pre-Primary school starts at 7:30 am and finishes at 15:30 pm, Monday to Thursday. The day is broken into seven periods, with a morning and lunch break.

Fridays are half-days. Children knock off at 13:00 hours.
Can my early learner stay post 13:00 hours?
Yes, we do provide after-hours care service. In which the tiger will be practicing their academic and character development skills.

The latest pick-up time is 16:30 hours.
What is the security deposit?
The Security Deposit is a refundable payment that will be refunded when students withdraw, provided a full term’s notice of withdrawal is given. Deductions may be made for any losses or damages to school property.
Do you accept applications all year round?
Yes, your child can join us at any time during the school year (places permitting). If a year group is full, we'll add your child to our waiting list.
How is my child's placement conducted?
An assessment test would be conducted to evaluate the student's development. Post which the placement will be considered. If the student’s current placement is different from the one in our year group allocation according to age, the Principal will give their recommendation.
In special cases a lower or higher grade can be recommended. In the event of a lower grade, a specalized plan for the student to achieve the desired grade.
How do you communicate with parents?
We’ll keep in touch with you by email and face to face and give you exciting updates about the school day on social media through the Childhood Joy Academy Facebook page and announcements group on WhatsApp.
You’ll follow your child’s learning journey through achievement diaries, parent teacher open day, and one-to-one meetings.
How can I get involved in school life?
All parents are open to participate in the Childhood Joy Academy Parent Teacher Association. The PTA group fosters a real sense of community spirit and togetherness. The aim of the PTA is to encourage parent involvement, support school initiatives, and strengthen community ties. Their goal is to create a positive, unified environment that benefits student development.
